An Americana Photoshoot
Ok so my latest travels took me to the Hamptons (I know I know it's hard saying that without sounding very sexy haha but yes it's beautiful out there) to shoot our Americana Summer collection.
"Fun fact, they actually used to race out there."
Bridgehampton was a proper circuit back in the 50s, a stretch of Montauk Highway that turned into a race track and helped shape American racing. That's what pulled us in, plus the summer car culture out there is still alive and well. Felt like the right backdrop.
It's kinda funny, I was shitting myself a bit when doing this.I thought it would be fun to be on the other side of the camera, as most of the time throughout my career, the lens was often pointed at me. So why not try out life on the other side of a 28mm (which is on my Leica, makes me sound like I know something about cameras) and shoot the next campaign. I did recently shoot the euro summer collection but that was a little more casual and let's just see what happens. Basically how I've run most of my life.

I kinda forgot the part about directing, not just clicking. Telling people where to stand, how to interact, when to be serious, cute, laugh, all of it was really funny cos I kept telling myself, what the fuck am I doing. Are they laughing at me. I don't even know how to hold a camera properly let alone figure out what I want the models to do or what light I'm looking for and what settings my camera should be on.

We can probably all relate. Once I stopped overthinking and relaxed a bit, I really enjoyed myself. And unless everyone hates the pics, I can see myself doing it again sometime.
Shout out to Glen's dad for the car and our guest appearance from Frankie the rescued great pyrenees. They were the real heroes here 🫡
